Greek American Fusion
Welcome to Karv Bistro, a family owned and operated business.
We would like to introduce ourselves to you, The Kormalos Family, first and foremost we are people of faith. Joshua 24:15. John’s dream since he was young was to live in a coastal community and own a restaurant that celebrated family and food. He was raised cooking in the Greek diners of New York but after working his way through University, he became involved in other ventures. Now at the age of 58, he is finally pursuing his vision with Karv Bistro. “Covid and Metastatic Colon Cancer in 2020 changed my life, but really God’s plan for me is revealing itself in my life.” John invites men to come participate in morning prayer every Thursday from 7-8am. “Coffee is on Me”
Salem is our Matriarch. Her passion is to serve Jesus, but you will probably see her from time to time in the restaurant helping with the baked goods. She currently works as a school bus driver where her kids refer to her as Miss Salem. He role is very simple, she is “Our Prayer Warrior”
George will be working right along Pops. George was an aspiring D1 track athlete. A major leg injury and Covid changed his future plans but he embraced owning his own business and being a member of a community that gives and cares. He loves fishing, flying, and being outdoors.
Remahlia, whom you may see working in the front during the summers and breaks, is an engineering major at UGA, GODAWGS! She loves Music and the Ocean and volunteering locally with STEM students.
So where does food come into all of this?
Our recipes are generational.
They originate in the Mediterranean and Nile Basin. Our Karv Meat Hot Sauce is a recipe more than a hundred years old, and our Pasta Sauce was created by Salem’s Mom and uses unique African spices. Our goal is very simple, great food, great value, and building a place where everyone is family. Please come join us and Celebrate Food and Family!
